A government big enough to give you everything you want
is a government big enough to take from you everything you have. –Thomas Jefferson

The solution:

2 Pet 1:4: Through these he has given us His very great
and precious promises, so that through them
you may participate in the divine nature and escape
the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

Rom 8:38: For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,
Rom 8:39: neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

James 1:12: Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.

John 14:27: Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

John 16:33: I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.

Rom 10:9: That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

  1. Absolutely True! It's a good thing we have a big God!! (and it's also good that He gives good things and only takes what would harm us!)

  2. Totally agree. It's sad when everyone wants the government to work out all the struggles of the nation. Hence, more security, more taxes, bigger government, and less freedom.

  3. Wouldn't it be so awesome if everyone would live more by our dear Lords rules guiding us~~~I guess that would make it "to perfect"! So much sadness....we really need to pray hard!
    Great post Lorena! Hugs~Tory

  4. Thanks everyone. Even though there is so much evil and tragedy in the world today... God's word gives me so much refreshment and soothes me. Its so nice to know that throughout our troubles, God have His protective, loving hand upon us.

I look forward to your comments!
